A 60-year-old woman was allegedly raped and hit with a stone by an unidentified person in Karandih area on the outskirts of the steel city here, police today said.
The sexagenarian had gone to dump garbage behind a college ground when the man, who was grazing his cattle, intercepted her and raped her on July 16, police said.
The accused hit her with a stone and threatened her with dire consequence if she discloses the incident, they said.
The victim along with the village head filed a complaint yesterday. The woman was sent for a medical check-up and an FIR was lodged against the person, police said, adding that no arrest has been made so far.
