6th Delhi Literature Festival to begin on Feb 23

The sixth edition of the Delhi Literature Festival is all set to kick off from February 23 here with a line-up of popular authors and personalities including Anant Padmanabhan, Durjoy Dutta, Ashwin Sanghi, Nilotpal Mrinal, and Rakshanda Jalil.

Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, will inaugurate the three-day festival with a session titled Education for Empowerment at Dilli Haat.
The literature festival will witness discussions and book readings sessions with an aim to promote young and inspiring authors.
"We are delighted to come up with the sixth edition of Delhi Literature Festival with much acclaimed authors and speakers. The three-day festival will hold many discussions and book readings as great attractions. Our objective is to promote young and inspiring authors, inculcate reading habits among the youth, and promote Indian literature across the globe, Bharat Bhargava, founder director-Delhi Literature Festival, said.

The festival will open with a musical session where Minu Bakshi, singer and author, will share her views. During the rest of the inaugural day, audience will be able to attend sessions by author Sanil Sachar, and a discussion on The growth of crowd-sourced writing in the new-age publishing industry by Anant Padmanabhan, Milee Ashwarya and Simran Khara.

Hindi authors Nilotpal Mrinal and Ashish Chaudhary will share their views on the present day status of Hindi literature in India in a session titled 'Nai Wali Hindi' on the second day of the festival.
Another discussion on the Ganga Jamuni tehzeeb will be the highlight of the day where Delhis historiographer R V Smith, blogger-photojournalist Mayank Austen Sufi and historian Rakshanda Jalil will look at the age-old amalgamation of the Hindu and Muslim practices that have always been an integral part of India.

Politician-author Jaya Jaitly will also discuss her book Life Among The Scorpions: Memoirs of a woman in Indian Politics.
The last day of the festival will start with a short play, performed by young artistes of Delhi, and will move on to a discussion on the book Trials of Truth by Pinky Anand and Gauri Goburdhun.
A discussion on social medias role in democracy by Aam Aadmi Party member Ankit Lal, author Prashant Jha and author Rajat Sethi will take the day forward.
The festival will conclude on February 25 with session on Raj Kapoor by his daughter Rita Nanda, and on The Boy with a Broken Heart by Durjoy Dutta.
