Over 7.1 lakh cases worth Rs 2,100 crore have been settled in the National Lok Adalats held across the country at all levels from the taluk courts to the high courts.
The National Lok Adalat, organised by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) along with the respective state legal services authorities on Saturday in 654 districts and 2,267 taluks, dealt with 3.98 lakh pending and 3.12 lakh pre-litigation cases.
"The said disposal would result into easing the burden of the pending cases as the said disposal in one day is almost equal to disposal of all the courts throughout the country in approx 18 days," NALSA said in its release.
