The incident took place yesterday and the victim is identified as Gagandeep, a resident of Sector-3 Ballabgarh, police said.
Gagandeep was on his way to Dhauj and was carrying Rs 7,00,000 in cash with him, they said, adding, on reaching Pali Hill farmhouse at about 12 AM, he was hit on his head by a bamboo stick by an unidentified person, but was unhurt.
He found two people on a motorcycle following him after which he stopped his bike to face the duo. However, he was again hit by the bamboo stick and the bag containing cash was snatched from him.
A case was registered with sector-55 police station here under relevant sections of the IPC yesterday.
