Haryana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Shrikant Walgad said here today that about 50,000 Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) -- 18,000 control units and about 32,000 ballot units-- would be used for voting in the state, scheduled for April 10.
He said as many as 230 candidates, including 11 women, are in the fray in the state.
The CEO said maximum numbers of 41 candidates are contesting from the Hisar parliamentary constituency. Ambala and Rohtak have the lowest number of candidates at 14 each.
He said 10 General Observers, along with 10 Expenditure Observers, have been deputed in the state. Apart from this, one Police Observer, two Awareness Observers and about 10 Micro Observers have been appointed.
