The number of deaths due to the vector-borne disease, however, remained static at two, state Director of Health Services Biswaranjan Satpathy told PTI.
The new cases were reported from Kolkata, Howrah, North 24-Parganas, South 24-Parganas, Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar districts and one from Darjeeling, the health official said.
Referring to the death of a person a couple of days back at the Bardhaman Medical College allegedly because of dengue, Satpathy said, "It's not sure whether the patient died of dengue. The patient died barely within two hours of reporting at the Bardhaman hospital, so a proper test to diagnose could not be done."
