Alleging "harassment" of its fire staff by way of "unwarranted" transfers, Airports Authority of India employees union AAEU today sought a stay on such postings while threatening to launch an agitation against the move.
In a letter to the AAI Member for Human Resources, Airports Authority Employees' Union (AAEU) General Secretary Balraj Singh Ahlawat said transfers ordered after the commencement of academic session should be withdrawn.
"To protest against the wrongdoing of the management and to protect the self-respect of the Fire staff, the union is forced to start the agitation from July 12, 2016 in the form of lunch-hour demonstration till the withdrawal of (transfer) letter," Ahlawat said.
He said 27 employees of the western region of AAI fire department have been transferred and claimed that "a list of another 100 employees who are to be transferred mid-academic session is being finalised by the management".
"All these transfers are not only arbitrary but also against the transfer policy of AAI," he said.
