AAI working 24X7 to ensure smooth function of Dehradun airport

State-owned Airports Authority of India has been working round the clock to keep the operations at Jolly Grant airport in Dehradun efficient for rescue and relief work in flood-hit Uttarakhand.
AAI has also set up a helpdesk-cum-relief camp at the airport to provide emergency services for flood victims and help to the passengers, their relatives and well-wishers.
"AAI has mobilised all of its infrastructure to extend efficient and smooth operations at the small airport (in Dehradun) having limited resources," an AAI spokesperson said.
The airport operator was working in coordination with Uttarakhand government and Indian Air Force to provide seamless flow of helicopters, aircraft and ground operations for the relief operations in the state.

Jolly Grant airport is now handling more that 120 flights per day against 53 on June 18, a day after the flash flood ravaged the state.
"This was being done successfully through optimum utilisation of resources by AAI officials working round the clock. AAI has also waived the landing and parking charges for relief flights operation through this airport," he added.
