Chandra filed the papers, accompanied by the party's Delhi unit convener and Labour Minister Gopal Rai, senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh, Environment Minister Imran Hussain and a number of AAP MLAs.
The bypoll to the Bawana assembly constituency was necessitated due to the resignation of AAP legislator Ved Prakash.
Prakash quit the party to join the BJP, days before the MCD polls.
