"We support the decision to scrap the management quota but the Kejriwal government's decision regarding this was just a public posturing since it was not incorporated in the amendments to the Delhi Education Act passed recently in the Assembly," Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken said.
Quoting last year's example, Maken said that the Lt Governor had issued such an order previously, against which the school management went to court, and got a favourable order.
Maken also criticised the Delhi government for its Education Credit Guarantee Scheme (student loan scheme) claiming that even after eight months of the declaration of the scheme, not even a single student has availed of its benefits.
"An RTI query about how many students have applied for the scheme since its start from June 11, 2015 till date, the reply by Directorate of Higher Education of Delhi Government was 'nil'," he said.
The Congress leader also asked the AAP government to support the party's demand for a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into the DDCA row as the "commission of enquiry set up by Delhi government was rejected both by the Centre and Lt Governor.
