Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader says AAP is prepared to induct all people with a "clear" track record into party

Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia today said his party was meant for all with a "clear" track record, and not just for those who participated in the initial movement against corruption.

"The party is not meant for only those who participated in the initial movement against corruption," Sisodia, a former Delhi minister, told reporters when asked about dissension in the party over some Lok Sabha candidates.

The AAP is prepared to induct all people with a "clear" track record into the party fold, he said, adding his party's target was to free the country from the clutches of dirty politics.

"There are plenty of people in the country who are good and have clear track record," he said, after announcing former Miss India and actor Gul Panag as the party's candidate for the Chandigarh Lok Sabha seat here.

AAP's previous candidate from Chandgarh, Savita Bhatti, widow of comedian Jaspal Bhatti, had opted out of race after she allegedly failed to take along party workers in the city and getting lukewarm response from activists as she was a "celebrity" chosen by the party to contest polls.

Many local AAP activists claimed they were associated with the party since its inception after the movement was launched against corruption.

"AAP's agenda is to stop people with criminal record from entering the state Assemblies and Parliament," he said, adding that the AAP was a force which is working against dynastic politics, corruption and crony capitalism.

Sisodia claimed that at present the country was being run by only six prominent businesmen including Ambanis.

"These businessmen in connivance with Rahul (Gandhi, Congress vice president) and (NDA's prime ministerial nominee Narendra) Modi are looting the farmers's land, and want to keep everything in the country under their control."

"These businessmen want to keep their control over the entire politics of the country," he said.

On dissension within AAP at some places over selection of candidates, Sisodia alleged that "its a handiwork of Congress and BJP". "Congress and BJP offer money to some persons to bring disrepute to AAP," he alleged.
