Despite AAP government bringing out a department-wise list of the 35 officials who were arrested on charges of corruption, BJP today continued to dismiss it and accused the Arvind Kejriwal dispensation of "misleading" people of the city on the issue.
The BJP alleged that out of 21 arrests from Excise department and Delhi Jal Board only nine are government employees while the remaining 12 are common people.
"We cross checked this list and found to our amazement that the list includes two head clerks of Grade III and two class IV employees. The rest eight shown arrested are actually common traders i.E excise licensees and their employees," said Delhi BJP President Satish Updhyay.
Of the nine Jal Board officials, BJP claims to have found that only five are employees while the remaining are private Jal Board contractors.
The Anti-Corruption Branch on June 13 said they had arrested 12 officials from the excise department, nine from Delhi Jal Board and seven from the education department.
The data also showed arrest of three officials from the agricultural produce market committee (APMC), two officials from MCD and one each from PWD and Delhi Police.
BJP said that it will hold a rally if the Delhi government cannot name all the 35 officers along with their posts, the charge on them and the date of arrest.
