AASU members took out processions and organised dharnas in all district and sub-divisional headquarters across the state highlighting their various demands.
There was, however, no untoward incident reported from any part of the state, police said.
AASU advisor Samujjal Bhattacharya said restarting work at the Lower Subansiri Hydroelectric site before the submission of the expert committee's final report would go against the interest of the indigenous people and the state.
Bhattacharya also said that the Centre should clarify its stand on the issue of border fencing, land-swap deal with Bangladesh and visa-related issues of Bangladeshis entering the state.
"We will closely watch the forthcoming railway and general budgets and at no cost will we allow the interests of the state to be compromised," he added.
AASU would also organise a human chain on July 12 in every district headquarter to highlight the various problems facing the state.
