Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar told the state Legislative Assembly today that police have begun action against the Nigerians who are involved in crime and also overstaying in the state.
Police teams would conduct an extensive exercise to find out those who are overstaying, Parrikar said.
The bogus educational institutes helping the Nigerians to get student's visa to arrive in Goa will also have to face the action, he said.
The Nigerians, who are here on student visa and are not students, would be deported from the state, he said.
The issue of increasing involvement of Nigerians was raised by Congress legislator Vishwajit Rane on the floor of the House.
Rane alleged that Nigerians were involved in drug peddling cases and crimes like murders in the state.
