Boarding a chartered bus from Saket, the activists stopped by at the Munrika bus stand from where the duo had boarded the bus and chanted slogans and sang songs of "fearless freedom".
The gathering included students, artists, photographers, feminists and film actress Swara Bhaskar also lent vocal support to them. Her father and strategic affairs expert C Uday Bhaskar was also in the crowd.
"We are marking the day by retracing the route taken by Nirbhaya and her friend that day from Saket to Mahipalpur in a chartered whiteline bus. We want tell the people that we have not forgotten...And yes, I believe that change is possible, if we can work together," Swara told PTI.
Another activist Shambhavi, part of a feminist group that was on board the chartered bus, said "we wanted to relive the journey and pay our tribute to the brave one today".
