Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said it is a matter of pride for the state that Adi Badri in Haryana has been identified as the point of origin of mythical Saraswati river.
While addressing the house on the fifth day of Budget Session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today, the CM said 350 articles have so far been written on Saraswati river.
"A US Agency NASA has found evidence of the course of the ancient river in Haryana through satellite images, and the river is flowing underground," Khattar informed the House.
When Congress MLA Karan Dalal said the government named Saraswati river, which did not exist, in a hurry, Khattar said it is believed that the Saraswati River dates back to Vedic period, and used to flow along the oldest civilisation of the world in Rakhigarhi.
Some part of Ghaggar river has been identified as being a part of Saraswati river. The river is said to flow from Adi Badri to Bilaspur and Kurukshetra, and an ancient bridge over this river still exists in Kurukshetra, Khattar said.
While referring to 'Hindutva', a charge made by opposition members, Khattar said if they talk about conservation of cows, it is linked with 'Hindutva'.
If they talk about Saraswati river, that is also linked with 'Hindutva'. If they talk about moral education to infuse among the children, patriotism and moral values, that is termed as 'saffronisation' of education.
"Being a Hindu is not a sin. Some are hindus, some are Muslims, some are Sikhs and some are Christians," he said.
