Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Adityanath today met Prime Minster Narendra Modi against the backdrop of the crucial Kairana Lok Sabha bypoll.
Sources in the UP government said the two leaders met this evening for over one hour.
Though there was no official word on the meeting, the sources said the two might have discussed the May 28 Kairana bypoll where the BJP's Mriganka Singh is pitted against the Rashtriya Lok Dal's Tbassum Hasan, who has the support of the Samajwadi Party, the Bahujan Samaj Party and the Congress.
Mriganka is the daughter of Hukum Singh, whose demise necessitated the byelection.
The upcoming fourth anniversary of the Narendra Modi government and the planned events to mark the occasion might have also been discussed at the meeting, the sources said.
