"Today, we have given a memorandum addressed to the President of India. We handed over the memorandum to the SDM at the DM office," Sardar Singh Bansal, Secretary of Bar Association, said.
The state government alone can not create a separate Bench of high court. Moreover, the Uttar Pradesh government is reluctant," Bansal said.
"Several states in India has more than three high court benches. Additional high court Bench will provide easy access to litigants. The high court is more than 700 kilometre away from several districts of western Uttar Pradesh," he said, adding, "due to the long distance, litigants prefer not to challenge orders though they are not satisfied with it."
Besides, Gautam Budh Nagar, advocates in other districts of western Uttar Pradesh also gave memorandums to their respective DM offices.
