Ambassador Janan Mosazai met Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam chief Maulana Samiul Haq at Haqqani Madrassa in Akora Khattak in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.
Mosazai delivered a special message of the Afghan President Ashraf Ghani to Haq, Jamiat's spokesman Maulana Yusaf Shah said without disclosing the content of the message.
They talked about peace talks between Afghan government and Taliban, Shah added.
Haq is considered as an influential figure among members of the Taliban on both sides of the Afghan-Pakistan border.
The talks halted last week when the Afghan officials announced the death of Taliban chief Mullah Mohammad Omar.
