According to Dy SP Satish Deshmukh of Yavatmal ACB, accused Mahesh Kamalakarrao Sirdeshpande (37) attached to the District Superintendent Agriculture office demanded a sum of Rs 20,000 from the complainant for forwarding his proposal for subsidy on sprinkler sets and getting it sanctioned from the concerned authority and thereafter for issuing a cheque towards subsidy.
The complainant accepted the demand but later lodged a complaint with ACB
The ACB team laid a trap outside Mahesh's office here and sent the complainant to the accused with marked currency notes following which he was caught accepting the bribe amount and was subsequently arrested.
