Agriculture official arrested on graft charges

An agriculture department official was caught today by Haryana Vigilance Bureau while accepting Rs 3,000 bribe from a farmer for releasing subsidy under National Agriculture Development Plan (NADP).
A case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against Charanpal Singh Chauhan, who would be produced before a local court tomorrow, police said.
According to the complainant Rajkumar, he had applied for subsidy under NADP but the officer demanded Rs 3,000 as bribe.
