"People from the weaker and minority section have been attacked in the past too, but in last few years, many such incidents have been occurring in parts of the country, with impunity and amount to violation of human rights enshrined in the Constitution," alleged Ratan Lal, a faculty in the Delhi University.
Besides, Lal, Commissioner of Income Tax and President of Bahujan Samyak Sangh Preeta Harit, and a few other members from different faiths, gathered under the banner of the AIMC here, to announce about the convention.
"It will be attended by various religious leaders, social and welfare organisations and NGOs. All those who care for justice and humanity can join us," the Council said.
