Addressing an event here, he said efforts are on to improve governance by use of information technology for the convenience of citizens.
"We are aiming that all central government departments are functional on e-office mode by this year end," said Singh, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.
An e-office is referred to computerisation of government works.
"A total of 28 central government departments have already adopted e-office. Our endeavour is to ensure that all government work is computerised to ensure easy access of services to citizens," the minister said.
"The number shows that this government is sensitive to the concern and need of the citizens. Most of these grievances were resolved in a time-bound manner," he said.
Singh said certain reforms are being suggested to the central government departments to reduce the number of grievances.
The minister said there isa need to inform people about the entire grievance redressal mechanism.
"Genuine grievances are being resolved in a week's time. However, there are certain grievances which are either subjective or aspirational (like promotion in government job) in nature which takes some time," he said.
A Central Public GrievanceRedress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) portal, managed by Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, allows citizen to raise their complaints against central government departments.
