A customer service agent at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) here has been apprehended for allegedly stealing Rs 5,000 and other valuables of a passenger sleeping in the terminal.
Officials said the incident was reported late night on September 15 when CISF sleuths deployed at the airport detected suspicious movements of a customer service agent of a firm over the CCTV.
They said the agent, identified as Deepak U Bopche, was trailed and it was seen he allegedly stole Rs 5,000, a few bank cards and a mobile phone from the baggage of a traveller who was sleeping inside a coffee shop in the terminal-III as he was waiting for his early morning flight to Mumbai.
Bopche was soon apprehended with the stolen goods and it was restored to the passenger after which the agent was handed over to Delhi Police, they said.
In a separate incident on the same day, an employee of a courier company died after he suffered a heart attack in the cargo area of the airport.
