Officials said the incident was reported late night on September 15 when CISF sleuths deployed at the airport detected suspicious movements of a customer service agent of a firm over the CCTV.
They said the agent, identified as Deepak U Bopche, was trailed and it was seen he allegedly stole Rs 5,000, a few bank cards and a mobile phone from the baggage of a traveller who was sleeping inside a coffee shop in the terminal-III as he was waiting for his early morning flight to Mumbai.
In a separate incident on the same day, an employee of a courier company died after he suffered a heart attack in the cargo area of the airport.
