BJP Rajya Sabha candidate Satyanarayan Jatiya, whose close relative's residence was raided by the CBI here today, said allegations levelled against his son's appointment in the Bokaro Steel Plant are totally wrong.
Jatiya is a former Lok Sabha MP from Ujjain, while his son Rajkumar Jatiya is an officer in Bokaro Steel Plant and a resident of Bhopal.
"My son's appointment was made by following all rules and regulations. When this selection was made, neither I was the Union Labour Minister nor was the NDA in power," Jatiya told reporters at the BJP office in the presence of the MP BJP President Narendra Singh Tomar.
When asked about the timing of the CBI raid especially after Jatiya filed his nominations for Rajya Sabha yesterday, Tomar alleged that it is an attempt to defame the BJP by the Congress-led UPA.
"This is not the first case of CBI's misuse to defame political opponents," Tomar alleged.
However, the Leader of Opposition in the MP State Assembly Satyadev Katare dismissed the BJP's allegations on the issue and added that everybody knows that the CBI never conducts any raid just after a day's preparation.
It is a misleading allegation that the CBI raided Jatiya's kin's residence a day after he filed his nomination to the Rajya Sabha or an attempt to defame the BJP, he said.
