Alliance Air, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Air India, is set to commence daily operations between Ranchi, Kolkata, Raipur and Bhubaneswar from December 7, an official release said Wednesday.
Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha is expected to be present at Ranchi after the inaugural flight reaches the city from Kolkata. The flight will then tracel to Raipur and Bhubaneswar, the release said.
"Jharkhand is expanding at a rapid pace and is one of the 100 Indian cities to be developed as smart city under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's flagship Smart Cities Mission. The commencement of this flight will fulfill a long-standing demand of passengers for a convenient connection from Ranchi to Raipur, Bhubaneswar and Kolkata, the release said.
