"The question of alliance between Congress and any other political party will be decided by the party high command. We neither have the authority to decide on it or speak on it. The decision will be taken by party high command," Bhuniya said.
Bhuniya's comment came in the backdrop of a section of Congress leaders, especially Abdul Mannan advocating in favour of forging an alliance between Congress and CPI(M) in West Bengal to oust the Trinamool Congress.
"The cause of the minority has been ignored for a long time. But the present state regime more than development is interested in vote bank politics. The appeasement politics pursued by Mamata Banerjee in turn is sowing the seeds of communalism in Bengal," Bhunia said.
The Congress's minority cell has called for a convention on minorities on August 19.
