"The secular parties which have come together in Bihar are a formidable alliance. It is a tough task for the BJP (to win Bihar assembly elections)," he told reporters at a meet the press organised by Bangalore Reporters Guild and the Press Club of Bangalore here.
Asked about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rule, Gowda said people are getting disappointed with it for not meeting their expectations.
He, however, lauded the Modi government for giving scam-free one year in office unlike the Congress rule which was 'infested' with various corruption charges.
Asked whether JDS has struck an understanding with BJP during his meeting with Modi at New Delhi, Gowda said, "There is no question of we joining hands with either BJP or Congress."
Referring to Karnataka, Gowda slammed the ruling Congress for creating obstacles to conduct Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike polls, before the Supreme Court ordered the government to hold elections in three months.
