Rajasthan Congress today accused the Centre of implementing the decision to demonetise high value currency notes without prior preparation and demanded that people should be allowed to pay their utility bills, fees taxes and fuel with Rs 500/1000 denomination notes.
Holding the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre responsible for the inconvenience caused to the people due to demonetisation move, the party staged demonstration 'Jan Akrosh rally' at the Collectorate Circle here.
"The government has implemented the demonetisation decision without prior preparation, due to which it has caused great inconvenience to people. The government has totally ignored the problems of the people," Rajasthan Congress Chief Sachin Pilot said addressing the demonstration.
He demanded that the Centre should extend the last date to make key payments, like utility bills, fees, various types of taxes and fuel using the old notes.
"The government should waive the loans of farmers and provide relief as banks have collected whopping amount," Pilot said.
Leader of Opposition in Rajasthan Assembly Rameshwar Dudi said people from all sections are facing the difficulties as they have no cash.
"Banks are not providing them adequate cash and the move of the Prime Minister has only created problems," he said.
