Aluminium up 0.2% on global cues, spot demand

Metal for delivery in October traded marginally higher by 0.12%

Aluminium prices went up by 0.21% to Rs 119.35 per kg in futures trade today as participants strengthened their positions, supported by an upward trend overseas.

Further, strong demand in the spot markets also influenced metal prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in current month inched up by 25 paise, or 0.21%, to Rs 119.35 per kg in business turnover of 224 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in October traded marginally higher by 15 paise, or 0.12%, to Rs 120.60 per kg in 12 lots.

Marketmen said apart from increased domestic demand, a firming global trend in base metals, mainly influenced metal prices at futures trade here.
