He also lashed out at the Aam Aadmi Party for its repeated "sacrilegious and blasphemous" acts hurting religious sentiments of people, even as he condemned AAP for using their party symbol "broom" along with the picture of Darbar Sahab on their posters and termed it as "blasphemous and unpardonable".
"It is surprising that the police are not arresting the AAP MLA," he said, wondering what made police go so soft with the accused despite grave allegations with substantial evidence against him.
Warning against any laxity in the matter, the PCC chief maintained that there was a pattern in sacrilegious incidents which started with the desecration of holy Guru Granth Sahab, followed by holy Gita and now with the holy Quran.
"There seems to be clear and deliberate design to sabotage the peace in Punjab and it must be curbed with iron fist," he said, cautioning against going soft on suspects.
Amarinder also condemned the AAP for using their party symbol "broom" along with the picture of Darbar Sahab on their posters, which he said is blasphemous and unpardonable.
Comparing the election manifesto with holy books like the Gita and Guru Granth Sahab also "betrayed" AAP's ignorance and insensitivity towards the religious sentiments of people.
"These are highly insensitive, blasphemous and unpardonable acts by the AAP leaders," he said, adding, "they just can't get away with these by tendering an apology without actually meaning to apologise".
"Here is a party, restlessly ambitious to rule Punjab and yet so insensitive and ignorant about the sensitivities of its people," Amarinder said referring to the repeated acts of outrageous sacrilege committed by its leaders.

Meanwhile, BJP National Secretary Tarun Chugh today in Chandigarh accused Congress and AAP of trying to disturb the hard-earned peace of Punjab but said but the BJP-SAD government won't let their "conspiracies succeed".
In a statement, Chugh said the 'Sarbat Khalsa' in Chabba last year allegedly supported by Congress and the alleged desecration of religious book by AAP MLA had proved the two parties are more than ready "to play with fire" just to garner some votes in the forthcoming Punjab assembly elections.
Condemning the alleged Malerkotla sacrilege incident, the BJP leader sought strict action against Yadav.
He also said AAP had hurt the sentiments of Sikhs and Punjabis by using photo of holy Sikh shrine Golden Temple with the picture of a broom on the cover of party's manifesto.
