Mumbai Crime Branch sleuths will keep a hawk's eye on guests attending the wedding ceremony of disgraced Rajasthan Royals cricketer and an accused in the IPL spot-fixing scandal Ankeet Chavan here tomorrow.
Chavan is tying the knot with his sweetheart and IT consultant Neha Sambari in a low-key ceremony.
The cricketer was given conditional bail by a Delhi court till June 6 for marriage.
"We are keen to see who are the guests at Ankeet Chavan's marriage", said a crime branch official.
According to Crime Branch sources, arrested bookie Ashwin Agarwal, alias Tinku Delhi alias Tinku Mandi, has already told Delhi Police about his financial dealings with Chavan and his Rajasthan Raoyals teammate Ajit Chandila.
RR players Chavan, Chandila and S Sreeshanth were arrested last month by the Delhi Police for their alleged involvement in spot-fixing for an IPL tie.
"If he (bookie) says new things about Chandila, Chavan or pacer S Sreeshanth, then they will be questioned (in that regard)", said a crime branch official.
Meanwhile, sources said Tinku had met Chandila and Chavan on March 28 in Delhi and paid Rs 20 lakh to Chandila.
They further said Tinku and absconding bookie Jupiter had taken a place on rent in Gurgoan reportedly for carrying out their betting activities.
Tinku earlier used to work for a bookie called "Mandi" in Delhi but later parted ways with him and started accepting bets from punters and assumed new moniker as "Tinku Mandi".
Police said bookie Paresh Batia, who was earlier arrested by Goa police, will be brought here tonight.
