Another Thane crime branch officer in ACB net

The anti-corruption bureau today arrested a senior inspector of Thance police's crime branch for accepting an iPhone as a bribe.
An ACB release said that senior inspector Uttam Tangde demanded the iPhone from the complainant for not conducting an inquiry against him.
ACB sleuths today laid a trap and caught police constable Rajesh Nikam who accepted the iPhone worth Rs 49,000 on behalf of Tangde.
Both were charged under the Prevention Of Corruption Act.
Last month, another senior police inspector of Thane crime branch, Shahaji Jadhav, had been arrested in a graft case.
