An anti-hijack mock exercise was conducted at the Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport here today to check preparedness and to improve the contingency plan to handle a hijack situation.
The exercise was conducted under the chairmanship of Assam Home and Political Department Secretary Kanak Chandra Sarma, an AAI-North East region release said here.
The Director of LGBI Airport B K Tailong was the Convenor, it said.
The CISF commandant, the Indian Air Force (IAF), all airlines, air traffic control (ATC), the police and other agencies participated in the mock exercise, the release said.
IAF helicopters actively participated in drill for evacuation of casualties, it added.
