The incident occurred in afternoon, when a group of activists owing allegiance to 'Swamini Daru Bandi Andolan Samiti' marched towards the local residence of Yerawar in Dutt Chowk, with liquor bottles in their hands, district superintendent of police Megnathan Rajkumar said.
The activists alleged that Yerawar played a role in the state government's move to denotify the national and state hihghways passing through the city to save liquor lobby.
According to the police, the activists wanted to garland the minister with liquor bottles as part of the protest.
It is not known whether Yerawar present at his residence.
They have been booked under various sections of the IPC and the Maharashtra Police Act.
