AP Congress demands enquiry into blackmoney stashed abroad

The Congress in Arunachal Pradesh today joined the nation-wide protest against demonetisation and demanded an enquiry by a Parliamentary Standing Committee on the blackmoney stashed abroad.
Joining the 'Akrosh Diwas' protest against demonetisation, Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) asked the Centre to enhance the withdrawal limit of cash from ATMs and banks to ease public inconveniences.
Thousands of Congress workers holding placards organised joined the protest at Indira Gandhi Park here and unequivocally denounced Prime Minister Narendra Modi's move as "a political move being sold as a fight against corruption".
Addressing the gathering, former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki said that the NDA government's demonetisation move came at a time when the country was passing through a crucial phase.

"The BJP is trying to create intolerance and want to make the country economically weak. The prime minister took a hurried decision for which people are forced to suffer in remote and inaccessible areas where there are no facilities of banks and ATMs," Tuki said.
He said the current slogan of the prime minister for cashless transaction did not match with the present scenario as most of the villages in the country were without bank and ATM facilities.

"First provide all facilities and then go for demonetisation," he said and alleged that the NDA government had informed all its leaders six months in advance about the move.

He said before such a move, an ordinance should have come up and passed by both the houses of the Parliament.
Denouncing Modi's claim that the move was aimed at curbing terrorism and check blackmoney, Tuki said that there were various laws which could have been implemented to curb the menace instead of harassing the common man.
APCC President Padi Richo while terming demonetisation as 'de-Moditisation' said, "Majority of the country's population are not happy with the move and days are not far away when the people will give a befitting reply to it".
