The Andhra Pradesh government today appointed retired bureaucrat P K Agarwal as chairman of the new Pay Revision Commission.
This follows a demand by the AP Non-Gazetted Officers' Association for constitution of the PRC.
The Association served a strike notice to the government recently in support of its demand and also announced a 'Chalo Hyderabad' agitation programme.
Giving into the demand, the government today announced the constitution of PRC with Agarwal as the head.
Agarwal retired as Special Chief Secretary to government after having served in various capacities.
The terms of reference and other details related to the new PRC have not been announced yet.
