Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today said the state government aims to supply water to every acre of land in the state by completing constructing ongoing irrigation projects.
He also said that within the next three months, 28 irrigation projects will be completed at a cost of Rs 13,000 crore.
Naidu was speaking at a public meeting at Jaggampeta, after inaugurating Rs 16,050 crore Purushotham Patnam Lift Irrigation project.
"So far Rs 44,000 crore have been spent for the Purushotham Patnam Lift irrigation project. The state government is taking all the necessary steps to provide water to each acre by constructing more irrigation projects for the sake of farmers and protection of agriculture land," Naidu said.
He said the project will be started on a war-footing from next year and completed in time.
Barring Srikakulam and Vizinagaram districts, the remaining eleven districts in the state will benefit from the construction of Pattiseema and Purushotham Patnam Lift irrigation projects, he added.
He said Polavaram project will be completed by 2019.
Naidu also said that the state government has set up Kapu Corporation to solve the problems of Backward Classes and provide reservation to them.
