All Parties Migrants Co-ordination Committee (APMCC) today criticised the Jammu and Kashmir government for not allowing the Kounsar Nag Yatra from south Kashmir route.
"We strongly condemn the JK government for buckling under the pressure of separatists and stopping the Kounsar Nag Yatra," general secretary Arun Kandroo told reporters here.
The state government has denied permission to a group of Kashmiri Pandits from taking out a yatra to glacial spring of Kaunsar Nag in south Kashmir.
However, the yatra is on from the four-year-old trekking route of Jammu's Reasi district.
"While separatists are welcoming the return of Pandits but issuing check list of Do's and Don'ts," he added.
The APMCC leader also clarified that Kounsar Nag Yatra was a simple pilgrimage to the lake where Pandits would have offered water to their ancestors after prayers and in no way it can be called pollution.
