YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy today demanded apology from Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to people and asked him to withdraw his statement "welcoming" Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley's announcement of a special financial package to AP.
"Chandrababu should tender an apology to the people of AP and also pull out his (two) ministers from the Central government forthwith," said Jagan, the Leader of Opposition in AP Legislative Assembly.
In an informal chat with reporters after the House was adjourned for the day, the YSRC leader accused Naidu of "selling away the future of AP people" only to protect his vested interests and to get rid of the 'cash-for-vote' case."
"You said your blood boiled (when Jaitley said in Parliament last month that special status to AP was not possible). Has it gone cold now?," Jagan asked.
"Having a person like Chandrababu as Chief Minister is the curse of AP people. He has deliberately watered down the special status demand," Jagan said.
"How could Chandrababu accept a financial package when he vowed to secure special category state status? The state will not progress without special status," he said.
