The incident took place last night at Mondelocality when eight dacoits forced their way into the farmhouse of one Eknath More (65) and attacked them with sharp weapons while they were fast asleep resulting in the death of daughter-in-law Rajashree Sampat More (32) and grand son Anuj (9), they said.
Eknath and his wife Hirabai More (56) were injured when they tried to confront them. Both have been admitted to a private hospital.
Bandu returned home to see his nephew and brother's wife lying a pool of blood following which he informed the police. Before cops reached the spot, the dacoits fled from the scene.
A case has been registered and investigations are on.
