His visit is likely to cement bilateral relations and give further impetus to the multifarious defence cooperation activities between the two nations, any army spokesperson said.
"General Singh's discussion with Singapore authorities will cover a range of fields including security and defence engagement. In addition, he will be visiting important Singapore Armed Forces training establishments," he said.
The visit assumes special significance in the light of enhanced defence cooperation between the two countries and their growing relationship, the spokesperson said, adding that both sides have shown a desire to work towards building a mutually beneficial defence cooperation.
The last Army chief-level visit to Singapore was in July 2010. The Singapore Chief of Army had also visited India in March 2013.
