Army foils infiltration bid in Keran

Army today foiled an infiltration bid by militants near the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir, killing an ultra, but lost a soldier while two other security personnel were injured.
"An infiltration bid was foiled by alert soldiers in Keran sector this morning, resulting in killing of one militant," a defence spokesman said here.
He said a soldier laid down his life during the encounter while two others sustained injuries.
A search operation is going on in the area, he added.
