"The educational tour comprising 18 girl students and two lady teachers under the aegis of Tiger Hill Brigade, was flagged off today from remote village of Darchiks near Batalik," defense spokesman S N Acharya said.
The tour spanning 11 days aims to expose the young girls to the rich and diverse cultural heritage, economic growth and secular nature of the country.
"The children will get an opportunity to visit places of cultural, educational, economic and historical interest in the cities of Srinagar, Jammu, Dharamshala and Chandigarh", Acharya said.
The village is one of the four 'Aryan' villages in the entire nation and leads a very conservative life.
