Arun Kumar questioned by Vigilance officials

Vigilance officials today questioned Institute of Human Resources Development Additional Director V A Arun Kumar, son of opposition leader in the Kerala Assembly V S Achuthanandan, in connection with the alleged irregularities in his appointment in the institution.
He appeared before vigilance SP E Sharafudeen and gave statements, sources said.
Talking to reporters, Kumar said he gave necessary information to the officials. "I believe that I could convince them that there were no irregularities in appointment", he said.
Charges were levelled against Kumar towards the fag end of the previous LDF rule by the present Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, who was then heading the Congress-led UDF opposition.

Charges against Kumar included foreign trips he had undertaken while serving as Managing Director of the Kerala State Cooperative Coir Marketing Federation Ltd and also irregularities in his appointment in IHRD.
