Arunachal Governor, CM congratulate weightlifters

Weightlifters from Arunachal won three gold and silver in the championship as a part of the Indian contingent.

While Jimjang Deru won gold in 50kg category yesterday, Soram Tagru and Kojum Taba both won two gold medals in 62-kg category and Sambu Lapang (69-kg) won a Silver medal today.

"This is a very proud moment for all Arunachalees that our boys have brought laurels to the country," Governor Gen Singh said in a statement.

"Our boys have proved in the international forum that ours is a promising state in the field of sports if given proper platform and facilities," Chief Minister Tuki said in a message from New Delhi.
