"The state has many things to offer in tourism sector but it has not been able to realise its potential due to lack of proper policies," Khandu said at the Arunachal Tourism Annual Conference organised by the state tourism department.
The chief minister directed the tourism department to depute expert consultants to prepare a roadmap, which would serve as a guide to the government.
"Without aggressive campaign, growth in tourism sector cannot be achieved," he said.
Pointing towards tourism infrastructure that lay unused in the state, he asked the department to focus on proper planning.
Tourism Parliamentary Secretary Pasang Dorjee Sona, who was present on the occasion said, "Promote the state in right perspective, when visibility is gained, tourists will start to come.
