The incentives for ASHA workers are revised every year as per guidelines and approval of Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, government of India, Khan said in reply to a calling attention motion in the Assembly.
Unsatisfied with the government reply, CPI(M) member Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami told reporters that the services of ASHA workers remained unrecognised in Jammu and Kashmir owing to lack of government attention.
The Jammu and Kashmir government must take a cue from the Kerala government which has not only cleared all dues to ASHA workers but raised their monthly honorarium to Rs 600 per month, the CPI(M) leader said.
