Two days after Lord Jagannth left for his nine-day tour of Gundicha Temple on Rathyatra, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) today began inspection of the 12th century shrine.
The temple's sanctum sanctorum 'Jagmohan', 'Nata Mandap' and 'Bhog Mandap' of Shree Jagannath Temple will be inspected during the period.
Engineer Dharmaprasad Mishra, a member of the inspecting team, said they will examine the first and second floor besides the sanctum sanctorum and other structures.
Members of the state government's conservation committee have also been participating in the inspection works of the temple.
The repair work inside the temple is expected to be completed by July 23.
An expert team of the Central Building Research Institute (CBRI) from Roorkee will monitor the repair work and inspect the sanctum sanctorum.
ASI has already carried out its repair work at the sanctum sanctorum.
