Assam CM orders probe into gas pipeline blast

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today instituted an inquiry into the blast in the pipeline of Assam Gas Company Limited in Sivasagar that killed four persons and injured several others.
The chief minister in a statement said the inquiry would help ascertain reasons for the explosion and find out if there were any lapses on the part of the company.
Gogoi also announced Rs 5 lakh as ex-gratia grant to the next of kin of those killed and Rs 50,000 to those seriously injured.
